LOCATION:      Perth, Western Australia

MISSION:         Investigate the Shark Cull

There has been a spate of shark attacks off the beaches near Perth.  In response the Western Australia State Government has put down drum lines to catch the sharks responsible.

Riley has been invited by concerned environmentalists to observe this shark cull in action.

What he finds is disturbing. In its first season the cull has killed over 40 Tiger sharks and not caught a single Great White – the sharks responsible for the attacks.

Riley discovers it’s a policy that in the past has been scientifically proven to be ineffective.

While in Perth, he looks at other viable and effective options available to local government.  This begs the question how has the government come to impose a policy that will not result in safer beaches?
